Tom has always been a great favourite of mine and is one of the very few truly
outstanding stallions resident in the UK today.
In fact he was one of only 3 outside stallions I would want to use even today.
Therefore it is with great pleasure and very many thanks to his previous owner
Kim Stanton that we welcomed Tommy into our Herd in June 2010.

Photo 2010
Ten years old and shows no sign of coarseness like many half his age.
He still has a small, neat pretty head, beautiful eye and
still retains his Level topline, something lacking in the breed nowadays in the UK.
Tom is a more drafty build of bloodlines from the renowned Nissan Herd which are now fast disappearing in favour of Micro Mini's, though with Tom's smaller height he would still be much sought after today. Not only does his pedigree carry the Famous sought after Jennie Sam but also Neek and Notch.
Tom is by the sorrel jack LN Reg Rangler, this jack is producing some very nice foals at this time for HCM's, Texas. http://www.hillcountryminiatures.com/img/BrickHouseRight01.jpg
Tommy really needs no introduction and is easily responsible for more people coming into the breed
than any other Miniature Donkey. Though people who have not been in the breed very long will not realise his importence to
the breeds development in this Country.

For newbies to the breed and to remind those who have chosen to forget!
Tom was the FIRST real top winning Miniature for many years at a time when there was discrimination towards the Breed, something I have not witnessed for a number of years now. Tommy was UNBEATEN for a number of years.
HE WAS ALSO THE FIRST MINIATURE TO DO WELL AT THE DBS SUPREME SHOW.
Tom was Champion THREE YEARS RUNNING at Peterbrough now known as the MMDA Nationals.
Well........when the MMDA can make their minds up where its going to be. It seems to depend on who wins as to the status of the show nowadays!
See Outlaws page for more on that!!!!
We are happy to have Tommy with us however his job is breeding not showing therefore his show appearences will be limited.
Although Tom has produced a number of show quality foals in the past and obviously many of my lovely mares will suit him.
He has produced sorrel and black colour as well as brown and grey, it depends how the mares are bred.
I do firmly believe the quality of many of the mares during the early years available to him at that time were not
always in his best interest the MMDA Stud book is full of mares which where the early imports and not anywhere near the quality we see today.
I strongly feel that there is much better to come from this jack.
* With this in mind I have given him a few very good mares....................first foal has exceeded my expectations!

Tommy proved to be the star we know he is leading the psalm Sunday procession around Ripon and into the impressive Cathedral despite the bells tolling, the dark entrance into the Cathedral then all the people, flashing cameras of the press and to top it all the organ struck up!
Little Tommy never once faltered showing his unrivaled temperament as he walked around the Cathedral among the congregation and waited patiently as the Bishops arrived, one even stopping to pet him holding up the procedings...........he earned £25 for Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary, well done Tommy!
I just adore the look of concentration on his face!
